Niki Stavrou was interviewed by Dr. Christina Tsardikos, President of the Hellenic Cultural Organization of South America “Nostos”, regarding her life’s mission, to build educational and cultural bridges between Greece and the rest of the world, through the works of Nikos Kazantzakis.

The 18th of February, 2023, marks the 140th anniversary from the birth of Nikos Kazantzakis (1883-1957), who has come to be regarded as Greece’s national author. Nikos Kazantzakis, whose novel The Last Temptation of Christ was directed by Martin Scorsese, and his most renowned novel Zorba the Greek has earned Greece three Oscars, is the most widely translated Greek author in more than 50 languages across the world.
On June 27, 2022, Niki Stavrou, CEO of The Nikos Kazantzakis Estate and intellectual property owner of the works of Nikos Kazantzakis, was interviewed by Dr. Christina Tsardikos, President of the Hellenic Cultural Organization of South America “Nostos”, regarding her life’s mission, to build educational and cultural bridges between Greece and the rest of the world, through the works of Nikos Kazantzakis. Niki reaffirmed that these bridges need to be well preserved and maintained through student and faculty exchanges across countries and universities, such as the Webster Athens “Odyssey” program, offering a once-in-a-lifetime immersive experience in the Hellenic culture, philosophy, art, language, values and ideals.

Niki Stavrou has given lectures in various international conferences around the world, in the United States, Germany, the UK, Argentina, Ireland, Greece, Cyprus, etc. about the life and works of Nikos Kazantzakis. She was invited to Trinity College, Dublin, to present her research on her findings regarding Kazantzakis’s autobiographical novel Report to Greco and was subsequently featured in “The Irish Times” and has been awarded by Dr. Richard Pan, Sacramento State Senator for her “unwavering dedication in publishing Kazantzakis’s writings and continuing their legacy, so that younger generations to come will benefit and learn from one of the greatest authors in Greek history”.
